Consumer internet traffic is expected to grow by 260% until the year 2018, driven by a major increase in online video watching reaching about ¾ of the entire internet traffic of consumers. Another finding is that mobile will quadruple from 4% consumer traffic to 16% in 2018. 

According to Cisco “the projected annual IP traffic for 2018 will be greater than all IP traffic that has been generated globally from 1984 – 2013 (1.3 zettabytes)."
